# What is a suitable WiFi network for the kiosk device?

LEARN WHAT ARE SUITABLE WIFI NETWORKS FOR FORGET ME NOT® FREESTANDING


WIFI NETWORKS THAT WILL WORK

Forget Me Not® Freestanding Kiosk is an 11 inch Galaxy Tab A9+ Android tablet
that will work with the following WiFi networks:

 * 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2.4G+5GHz, VHT80
 * Networks with WPA-Personal security mode


WIFI NETWORKS THAT WON'T WORK

WiFi Networks with any of the following functions or modes will not work:

 * Captive Guest Portal - any guest network that requires a separate login
 * Networks with WPA-2 Enterprise security mode


WIFI NETWORK SIGNAL STRENGTH

The signal strength of the WiFi network is important to ensure good
communication with the Forget Me Not® system. The following signal levels are to
be considered when locating the Freestanding Kiosk device.

 * Excellent Signal | between -30 dBm and -49 dBm
 * Very Good | between -50 dBm and -60 dBm
 * Minimum | between -61 dBm and  -67dBm
 * Not Good | between -68 dBm and  -79 dBm
 * Unusable | greater than -80dBm

✅ Use a WiFi signal meter phone app

similar to test the signal level before installation

⚠️Connecting to a WiFi network with a signal level of Unusable or Not Good may
not perform correctly for Forget Me Not® media and are not recommended
