# About Forget Me Not® Freestanding

LEARN ABOUT FORGET ME NOT® FREESTANDING AND HOW IT CAN BE USED IN ORGANISATIONS
TO MAKE LEARNING MORE ACCESSIBLE

Forget Me Not® Freestanding is a new and exciting innovation that allows
learners to access training directly in the flow of work on a shared kiosk
device, without the need for a mobile phone or computer.

It provides quick and easy login options
[https://support.forgetmenot.chat/how-to-login-to-forget-me-not-freestanding?hsLang=en]
and has a simple interface to get straight into answering questions
[https://support.forgetmenot.chat/about-freestanding-questions?hsLang=en]. When
using the Forget Me Not® Freestanding, there are none of the usual notifications
or chat banter used with the traditional Learner App
[https://support.forgetmenot.chat/start-using-the-app?hsLang=en] or Learner Web
[https://support.forgetmenot.chat/start-using-learner-web?hsLang=en], so this
means that learners would need to visit the kiosk daily in order to check for
available questions and check on their progress
[https://support.forgetmenot.chat/how-can-i-check-on-progress?hsLang=en].

Once all questions have been answered or if no questions are available, then the
system presents learners with 'activities
[https://support.forgetmenot.chat/what-are-fillers?hsLang=en]' that are designed
to be fun and interesting to encourage a daily learning habit. With questions
and activities, there's always something to do with Forget Me Not® Freestanding
Kiosk.

WHY USE FORGET ME NOT® FREESTANDING KIOSK

In many workplaces today, and in particular within the Aged Care sector, there
can be many barriers to learning which can include:

 * Organisational policies often don't allow using mobile phones during work
   hours
 * Learners don't want to use their own mobile phone
 * Learners are worried about using up phone data limits when using their own
   device
 * Learners can forget to do learning if not 'front and centre' in the flow of
   work
 * Learner engagement can be lower when there is less social interaction with
   co-workers

HOW DOES FREESTANDING WORK?

Forget Me Not® Freestanding Kiosk works as a shared kiosk that can be located
[https://support.forgetmenot.chat/where-should-i-locate-forget-me-not-freestanding-kiosk?hsLang=en]
in common areas within the workplace, such as lunch rooms, breakout areas and
even in resident dining rooms.

The kiosk device has installation requirements
[https://support.forgetmenot.chat/forget-me-not-freestanding-kiosk-installation-requirements?hsLang=en],
such as being close to a power outlet and must be in range of a Wi-Fi network.
It must be securely mounted to a wall, on a desk or flat surface, or floor
mounted, and not in a location that can cause safety issues.

Once installed and connected, any learner can login using any of the provided
login options
[https://support.forgetmenot.chat/how-to-login-to-forget-me-not-freestanding?hsLang=en].
The learner is then presented with:

 * Today's questions
   [https://support.forgetmenot.chat/about-freestanding-todays-questions-screen?hsLang=en]
   from series they are enrolled in
 * A daily activity
   [https://support.forgetmenot.chat/about-freestanding-activities?hsLang=en]
   from the selection that are made available

Once questions have been answered or the activity has been viewed, the system
will automatically offer to log out the learner so it's ready for the next
person.

WHAT'S DIFFERENT ABOUT FORGET ME NOT® FREESTANDING KIOSK

With the kiosk, the learning style is slightly different to the traditional
Forget Me Not® because learners will:

 1. login
 2. answer questions
 3. and then log out straight away.

This means that learner engagement must be done by other workplace communication
channels.

Learners do not get reminders or notifications when using Forget Me Not®
Freestanding Kiosk so these important communications must be managed by the
Console Admin
[https://support.forgetmenot.chat/getting-started-as-an-administrator?hsLang=en]
using standard corporate comms systems.

OTHER DIFFERENCES WITH FREESTANDING

 * Learners don't get to adjust days off, notification times or communication
   methods as these are not used with Freestanding
 * Learners will only be able to do a maximum of 4 mins per day learning which
   equates to:
   * 1x advanced question
   * 2x simple or true/false questions
 * If the learner is enrolled in multiple series at the same time they are
   delivered sequentially based on enrolment date so learners must complete all
   questions in enrolment 1 before they will see questions in enrolment 2.
